The Aussies returns to Perth, WA in 2023. The Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, “The Aussies”, returns to Western Australia for the 12th time in the 107-year history of the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships across nine days of competition from March 25 to April 2, 2023.The pinnacle event on the surf lifesaving calendar will see over 5000 volunteer surf lifesavers from around the nation descend on Scarborough, Trigg Island and Secret Harbour beaches to test their “rescue ready” skills in a competitive individual and team events. The Aussies comprises of more than 480 events across three age championships; Youth, Masters and Open and provides the opportunity for members from across the 314 Australian Surf Life Saving Clubs to compete in both beach and ocean events.
President of Surf Life Saving Australia, Mr John Baker ESM said that the Surf Life Saving community is looking forward to making its return to Western Australia in 2023. “We all have wonderful memories of 2018, and we’re so glad that we are able make our way back to Perth as the venue for the 2023 Australian Surf Life Saving Championship,” said Mr Baker ESM. “Western Australia’s beaches provide the perfect location and amphitheatres for both competitors and spectators alike and we are sure it will be an exciting and memorable event.”
